Christmas morning part 1

Christmas morning the kids woke up to find they couldn't get out of their room due to some Christmas morning magic! I don't think they knew what to think of this barricade, but they were definitely anxious for us to take it down.

Daddy headed downstairs first to make sure that Santa wasn't in the house while the kids waited at the top of the stairs.

Joseph couldn't help but peek a bit when he heard a new, exciting sound...

Eventually Maddie figured out what Joseph was all excited about.

Santa brought a new train for under the Christmas tree! This picture was taken after we had cleaned everything up, so you can actually see the train, which is a replica of the Hogwart's Express, or the "magic school train" as Joseph calls it.

We had a super relaxed day, letting the kids play with their new toys all morning and afternoon.

Santa even brought some silly little suckers for these two. They can pretend to be Rudolph and Bumble!

Christmas Eve pics

Ok, so not exactly Christmas Eve, but the weeken before I decided the kids were healthy enough to go to church.
And then they both were so sweet to each other afterwards in the gym downstairs!

No actual pictures from Christmas Eve church, but managed to snap this one after the kids went to bed. More and better pictures coming from the real camera, but I love how pretty the room looked that night!

Christmas cookies

Lots of updating to do, and subsequent posts will be out of order. Time to catch up!

Joseph was quite sick in the weeks leading up to Christmas, so I had to cancel our annual cookie decorating play date. Instead, the kids and I spent a morning a few days before Christmas having our own little party. The kids had lots of fun, and Joseph has been asking when we can do it again. Guess we will be making some early Valentine's day cookies soon!
