Spring break fun

This week the kids have been on spring break. We started off by going to St. Louis for Jen's bridal shower/bachlorette party and a birthday celebration for Mimi.

Maddie was so excited to discover that pockets aren't just in pants!

After dinner Sunday we went back to Mimi and Papa's house where we had cake that Mason and Uncle Mikael made for Mimi, followed by a dance party.

We had to head back home on Monday, just in time to celebrate St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday. It was really chilly and although we opted to head down to midtown for the parade, we didn't stay too long.
Both Joes were happy for a valid reason to wear their green pants in public. Like father, like son!

We had a few rainy indoor days Wednesday and Thursday, and Friday we decided to get out of the house for a bit. We headed to Ceramics Cafe where they had a creative storytime. The kids listened to a story about a bunny finding an egg, and then had the opportunity to paint a ceramic piece of their choice.

They both really enjoyed it! We then headed to a nearby park for a while to enjoy the return of warmer weather.

This weekend has been full of work around the house, trying to take advantage of our remaining baby-free weeks. Spring break has been fun, but I'm definitely looking forward to school tomorrow!

Nursery for Jack

When I was pregnant with Joseph, I was insistent that his room be finished before I hit my third trimester. We got close, but it was a pretty intricate nursery.

With Maddie, the collective "we" had less to do, but I still worked to make sure the room was ready about 2 months before her due date.

Since moving, Maddie's room has been a bright eyesore. We knew it was going to need to be painted but focused our attention elsewhere. I have really been struggling with what to do with this room for baby Jack and finally said enough is enough. So this weekend we said goodbye to the purple and blue forever.

Nothing like painting a room at 35 weeks pregnant! I'm at a birthday party with Joseph right now and taking a break, but hoping to be finished tonight. Fingers crossed! Then just sewing and decorating left.
