After months of debating whether we should trim up Maddie's hair it keep letting it grow, recently it started looking more consistently crazy and we decided it was time.
She has some of the sweetest curls, but other sections are longer and straight and this is what her hair looks like most of the time. Especially because she doesn't like having her hair done!
When I asked her if she wanted to get her hair cut, she got excited and said yeah! She's been watching Joseph have his hair cut almost monthly since she was born, so she wasn't scared at all.
The worst part was this was Joseph's first time to not be in the chair, so he kept bouncing around, giving Maddie "tips." Which of course meant Maddie was turning her head to watch him. Once I bribed him with getting to pick out a new fish for his fish tank if he stayed in the same floor tile in front of Maddie's seat, things went much better. He didn't move again until she was out of the chair!
I told the stylist I wanted it to be evened up, and keep it as long as possible. The ends really were all over the place, so some curls lost more length than others. At least it will continue to grow more fully now and look less bedraggled... Maybe!
Maddie did great the whole time and was very happy to get a sucker at the end. It's not a very dramatic change, but looks a lot nicer from the back. And maybe a bit less baby-mullet ish!
