Christmas 2012

Christmas morning was a bit anticlimactic at our house this year. After a full weekend of family and opening presents, Joseph just wasn't terribly excited to see all of the gifts under the tree - it was almost as if he had come to expect the gifts, and it wasn't a big deal.

Regardless, he still had fun opening the presents and checking out everything Santa left in his stocking. Some of his favorite Christmas morning gifts included a recycling truck from Grandpa Joe and Grandma Dianne, and a broom set from Santa!

Daddy showed Joseph how to load the trash cans onto the swing arm, lift them up and dump the contents into the truck. We had plenty of paper to use as trash, which made Joseph quite happy!

Joseph had been asking for a big fire engine, and specifically a ladder truck. Santa delivered!

Joseph was really excited to play with his two big trucks all morning long. Actually, after opening the fire engine, he wasn't interested in opening anything else, so we ended up putting a few of the gifts away for later. :)

Maddie loved her gifts too, which included this stuffed bear with various sounds/chew toys, and a car seat toy.

Later in the afternoon, Nana and Papa came over to play with our new toys and have Christmas dinner. It was a low key, laid back Christmas, just the way we like it!
